During a great call sequence of the adult pair "Otti"
and "Lena", the subadult "Pinocchio" first does not participate,
then adds one great call note and finally accompanies his mother during the twitter
at the end of the great call. |

Copulation |
The adult pair (Otti + Lena) seems to wait until both
offspring are distracted, then begin to copulate (initiated by the female). The subadult
"Pinocchio" immediately approaches and watches closely. This seems to disturb
the male "Otti", who directs an open-mouth-threat at the juvenile. |

Copulation |
During another copulation of the same pair, the adult
male suddenly detects a familiar visitor and runs off to direct threats at him. Immediately,
the subadult male "Pinocchio" takes his father's place and copulates with
his mother. The male infant "Tom" (born 22 Dec. 1995) also approaches and
seems to join in. |

Duet |
Short section of a duet song bout (pair Otti + Lena).
The male alternatingly produces multi-modulated phrases, single boom notes and staccato
notes. During the boom note, the inflation of the throat sac is clearly visible.
After several male phrases, the female interrupts his singing with a great call phrase.
The immature gibbons also participate in the great call. Halfway through the great
call, the male adds a coda (a special multi-modulated phrase) and the gibbons jump
around during the climax of the great call. |

During the same song bout, the infant "Anton"
closely approaches his father. The female appears to fear for the infant's safety,
although the male was never observed to threaten his offspring in the least. She
tries to retrieve the infant, but carefully gets out of the way when the singing
male passes her by. |
