Skandalous salsa
(Thomas Geissmann) |
Dec. 2006, Haslernstrasse, Dietikon + Anthropological
Institute, Zürich |
Salsa, with a little bit of ska and Mexican trumpets,
and a fast piano solo. Surprisingly, it seems to groove. |

Sunflowers in space
(Thomas Geissmann) |
Nov. 2006, Haslernstrasse, Dietikon + Anthropological
Institute, Zürich |
An attempt a chill-out music. I am not satisfied with
the result. |

Crime fiction - Speed Remix
(Thomas Geissmann) |
Original recording: March 1996, remix: Feb. 2006, Haslernstrasse,
Dietikon + Anthropological Institute, Zürich |
A soundtrack without a movie. The original "unplugged"
recording of 1996 gets additional sections, numerous new tracks and a digital overhaul. |

Highway to hell
(Angus Young - Malcolm Young - Bon Scott) |
Feb. 2006, Haslernstrasse, Dietikon + Anthropological
Institute, Zürich |
Did you ever want to hear the greatest AC/DC song of
all time played on wood flutes? Probably not, but here it is, anyway. Very "alternative"! |

Vibes around the world
(Thomas Geissmann) |
Nov. 2005, Haslernstrasse, Dietikon |
Recipe: Mix some reggae and some salsa, and add a Turkish
saz riff for good measure, and presto: fascinating new music. |

Cha-cha para Erica
(Thomas Geissmann) |
Oct. 2005, Haslernstrasse, Dietikon |
The cha-cha is a wonderful type of music with Cuban
roots. These days, it seems to be largely forgotten and was ignored even during the
salsa revival in the wake of the "Cuba Vista Social Club" movie in the
1990's. I think the world needs more cha-cha, so I tried to create one. |

Surfin'
(Brian Wilson - Mike Love) |
Sept. 2005, Haslernstrasse, Dietikon + Anthropological
Institute, Zürich |
Early Beach Boys recordings have their unique charm,
but I couldn't resist creating a rather different cover of their first hit of 1962. |
